The latest author spotlight featuring

Alexis Lantgen

What kind of life will we find in the depths of Europa’s oceans? What kind of life will we allow an AI with human level intelligence?
The ten stories in Sapience: A Collection of Science Fiction Short Stories explore these questions and many more.

In the near future, humanity builds a colony on Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter. They tunnel into the ice to explore the dark oceans beneath the moon's surface, searching for signs of extraterrestrial life. What they find will change them forever, setting humanity on a path to the stars. But the old conflicts and hatreds of Earth are not so easily escaped. Will human colonists on distant planets and moons create a paradise or a horrifying dystopia?

Elji, a boy from a village outside the city of Mehem discovers a "Galrass" a tool usually wielded only by those who understand its power. Perhaps it was left for him to find or perhaps it was just a random happening?

The Galrass embroils him in a struggle he never expected to be part of or even imagined existed. Dregar, a being from a different planet and galaxy ‘feels’ the boys interruption of the universal essence and takes him under his wing and so his journey begins.

Friendships are made and lost and many lives must be put in danger to usher the civilization into its rightful place among the Universal essence. Will Elji fulfill his potential and help save his world or will it fall into darkness?

Another author spotlight featuring

Priscilla Thomas

"...everything in a life, in a person, is intertwined and messy..."
In this collection of vignettes and essays, Priscilla Thomas presents a celebration of the varied identities each individual person holds within. From scenes from her teaching life, to reflections on beauty and body, to vividly rendered childhood memories, to snapshots of day-to-day life, Thomas captures the harmonious contradictions of being human. "Gathering" tells stories of abuse and survival, of multicultural identity,
of love, and of loss.
In these pages, there is something for all of you.
