A 5* review for Glimmer Of Hope

Reviewed By Amy Raines for Readers’ Favorite

Glimmer of Hope by Ann Woodley is a volume of poetry discussing everything from writing poetry, love, fairies, and war and destruction. Even the concept of the things we do coming back in the form of Karma can be found in the poems. Woodley also discusses inner strength while discovering who can be considered true friends in a way that is emotional, honest and meaningful. Nothing evades this poet’s attention; even healing from a cold or the flu has significant meaning in her work. Finding the perfect words that put emotions into perspective is not always an easy task but Woodley has even compared erupting emotions to a volcanic blast in a way that gives wonderful and profound clarity.

Glimmer of Hope is a wonderful book of poetry by Ann Woodley. Shining the poet’s light onto a very wide variety of subjects, Woodley displays deep meaning and emotion in every single stanza. With words of truth, hope, inspiration in moments of loneliness, realization or desperation, this poet delivers poetry that will raise the bar and quiet the soul. I absolutely love how Woodley describes something so simple as how the sun rises or sets in a way that draws on deep emotions that are then transformed into her beautiful poetry. In the poem War’s Destruction, the poet discusses the conflict of war and the need for peace in words that first break then warm the heart. I recommend Glimmer Of Hope to anyone who enjoys reading meaningful poetry about subjects that are often taken for granted and I hope to see many more volumes by Ann Woodley in the future.

5* review on Reader' Favorite

It's no fun getting old & losing the last few memory cells, but while I still have at least one left, I'll just point out quickly that it hasn't entered my head in quite some time that I even have a blog.

I finally have something to add here, which may be of interest to at least one person looking for a Christmas or birthday present for a child...

My children's book has a 5* review.
  Yay, go me. 😁

The first part of the review, just describes what happens in the story.

Here is the 2nd part of what my reviewer said at Reader' Favorite...

Was Bogey better in Casablanca or in The Maltese Falcon? Louis L'Amour could tell the same story set in 19th century Laredo, on the SS Lichenfield or in the mean streets of modern LA. War makes criminals of us all, and every criminal syndicate needs its foot soldiers.

Serial Stalker is only 99p/99c for a limited time.

By murder number five, Lennie is becoming more and more aware that these killings could have something to do with her. The man she keeps seeing in inconspicuous places, doing natural-looking, everyday things, appears to be anything but innocent to her as time goes on, but is she being silly and paranoid? Or is he really out to get her? Lennie is forced to make changes to her life in order to keep her contacts safe, but while the body count rises around her, a pattern seems to be emerging, and Lennie is sure it must be only a matter of time before he kills again. Tracking the stalker, when the police come up empty, brings its own consequences, and it begins to look as though he'll never be caught. Will Lennie ever be free of him?

or...

Some geezer is stalking some bird. He kills some other geezers along the way until...

 Why I'll NEVER use TripAdvisor...

The following is an update to a petition I signed recently for Change.org...

16 May 2019 —

Yesterday, supporters of this petition protested outside of TripAdvisor’s New York offices to tell them they need to listen to survivors of sexual assault. Protesters were holding printed excerpts from reviews described sexual assaults at businesses on TripAdvisor’s platform.

Passersby were shocked as they read the review excerpts and stopped to ask how TripAdvisor could let these businesses continue to have 4 and 5 star ratings on their site. Change.org representatives asked several times for someone from TripAdvisor to come down and accept our 530,000+ petition signatures, but they refused, as you can see in the video above.
TripAdvisor is still failing survivors. The updates that the company rolled out on Tuesday would not have changed my experience of trying to report my rape on TripAdvisor. Until the company makes a commitment to supporting survivors in their effort to warn other travelers, TripAdvisor users still won’t have all the information they need to book travel safely.
It’s time TripAdvisor really, truly listened to what survivors are asking for, and made their platform safe for us to warn others about dangerous businesses.
A huge thank you to the supporters who showed up yesterday. You helped raise the voices of survivors whose stories have been buried on TripAdvisor for too long.

What kind of life will we find in the depths of Europa’s oceans? What kind of life will we allow an AI with human level intelligence?
The ten stories in Sapience: A Collection of Science Fiction Short Stories explore these questions and many more.

In the near future, humanity builds a colony on Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter. They tunnel into the ice to explore the dark oceans beneath the moon's surface, searching for signs of extraterrestrial life. What they find will change them forever, setting humanity on a path to the stars. But the old conflicts and hatreds of Earth are not so easily escaped. Will human colonists on distant planets and moons create a paradise or a horrifying dystopia?

(A Live, Love, Learn Series)

With the humor and insight that can only come from the experience of raising two children on my own, I’m happy to share with you all of my simple, low-cost and unpopular opinions.
Parenting is not about money nor is it a popularity contest; it’s about growing amazing, successful adults. Every child and every family is different, so take what works for you and ditch the rest. I won’t be offended, I promise.
